Rubbish - clutching at straws there BM.
Wouldn't be half the game it is now without the card.... if Ireland can hang on here against 14 + 75,000 then they'll go a long way towards a WC SF.

Re: 6 nations 22
Fair with this incident but I'm sick of seeing players going too high every week or turning the shoulder. 100% concur with that around going too high - but I'd maintain that's relatively simple to spot. Along with the deliberate 'I'm going to hurt this player' one (cf Dave Kearney). BduP's red card...

Re: 6 nations 22
Tackle low or don't play. Agreed when you've 10 yards between you and the guy with the ball running towards you. When he's 2 foot away, leaning towards you and moving, then you try and get down to below his waist. That's an unfortunate head-on-head collision - and the question Raynal asked around '...

Re: Short Survey of Club Rugby players in Northern Ireland - Win a new rugby jersey!
RRNI, do you play in a club team yourself ? Um, just reading the preamble, what is an 'integrated rugby union team' ? Is this a statement you would use for rugby union teams in Limerick clubs such as Garryowen or Shannon ? Or does this show an inherent authorial presumption around the identity of th...

El Diablo, I note your tickets now also provide the opportunity to watch the entire Ireland v England on every screen in the ground.... As the going rate for tickets (apart from on Tktb*d) is a crate of beer, you may well have to throw one of those in as well. UR are telling people that it''ll be th...

Re: 6 nations 22
The difference between the way the ball carrier and tackler are treated stems from the fact that it is the tackler who is responsible for the height of the collision. Not trying to get at you personally here ALV, but that sentence completely demonstrates what is wrong with the current Laws. Firstly...

Re: 6 nations 22
Two points well-made in those last posts: 1. The increased/increasing use of the forearm, and sometimes even the shoulder, by the ball-carrier. As noted illegal and very dangerous, but nowadays common as part of 'winning the collision'. I await a player with the ball being sent off for dangerous and...

Re: 6 nations 22
+1. And welcome back. Another example of a player standing still (look at his feet) and being run into by the ball carrier. Shades of the card for the ABs in November where a player tried to get into a non-existent gap between two players and due to the laws of physics inevitably ended up hitting hi...

Still plenty of money sloshing around out there: https://www.nzrugby.co.nz/news-and-events/latest-news/new-zealand-rugby-and-new-zealand-rugby-players-association-boards-approve-partnership-with-silver-lake/ Not much chance of any of it coming this way, I guess. An interesting development. Silver L...

Sir Jeffrey Dolittleson to announce free broadcasts of Paddy Raff to Russia. “That’ll really f¥ck things up” claims Sammy Wilson No, good British practice is to shoot the older stuff that we've got plenty of off first. All series of "Give My Head Peace". Box sets will cause more damage.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-60490199. Irish government to announce sanctions on Russia. Putins insides turned to water and was rushed to hospital.🙄 Oh I don't know. Of course Cap'n there is a downside to asking lots of questions..... here's one from the comments section of another blog (Diamond Geezer - which I can highly recommend). Today's subject was FOI requests to Transport for London: "I have only once put in an FOI request to TfL. They had changed t...

Re: What would you do ?
Justin73, yes, apparently it seems to. When I was first told the circumstances, I laughed. As did apparently at the time most of Team A. This did not, I understand, go down well at all with a number of members of Team B. They considered that laughing showed some degree of unconscious or endemic raci...

Even clearer - thank you. Especially the bit about 'reviewing' yellows. So in essence, the citing officer can only upgrade what was or was not decided on the field. Apologies, didn't seek to give the impression that a citing officer could affect a disciplinary panel and its process. Although I would...
