Dublin Mafia.
the prop rule was brought in by David Humphries.

Re: team ? for Benetton

Just me or have we some big young lumps? McNabney, Brigg, McKillop, Irvine. Of course it takes more that size, but a big rig to work with certainly helps.

He has been tucking into the calories for sure, much bigger than I remember, maybe a click less pace about him, I guess it's about striking the balance somewhere for 15s rugby.

Maybe adjusting to his new body.

Re: team ? for Benetton

What was Willie Faloons involvement last night?

Will he be announced as part of the coaching panel, or just involved due to the amount of Academy players.....

Re: team ? for Benetton

Not impressed with Telfer. Seemed to be badly out of condition. After half time I was going to put my season on 'We buy any season ticket' but they did better in the last quarter so I'll probably just keep it. Interesting as I see he got MOM…you must know something different to those making that ca...

Re: Are we allowed to talk about KINGSPAN

Hopefully after today we can talk about them again…. Damning verdict on a company that seemingly had no concern for safety falsifying tests/certificates and whilst not directly to blame for this incident showing total disregard… can we call it Ravenhill now When did we stop calling it Ravenhill....

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

Looks like Dan has resurfaced at Kobe Steelers with Dave Rennie. Amongst the forwards he’ll be coaching are Brodie Retallick and Ardie Savea. Not to mention Wayne Smith as Director of Rugby. I think Savea is headed to Moana Pacifica at end of Rugby Championship. He was at Kobe last season. Still gi...

Few more interesting results today

Quins beaten at home to Accies, Dungannon with another big win.

Though the talking point has to be the hammering Mena took to oh er Ballyclare.

Re: Squad depth 2024/25

I'm still unsure why the obvious has never been tried at 13.

McCloskey

I don't see him lacking there in attack, he has a good read in defence, concern could be around agility but is his agility any less than Aki or Henshaw.

At URC level it's at least an experiment worth having.

With Jacob at 13 we wouldn't have much call for wingers.

Its a real shame we couldn't of brought in a loose head prop, We've either got strength or potential in all other positions. At LHP I know exactly where we are at.

Nephew I think
Hopefully he has that pedigree
Yep, he's JJ Johns son, who is Paddys brother. JJ an uncompromising player in his day.

Calum at Dungannon this season.

Re: Squad depth 2024/25

:fleg: In fairness he is a good player. Good luck to him. Talent will only take you so far if the attitude isn’t there A good player at 7s agreed but means nothing in 15 especially as a forward. Balacoune and Keenan (both back 3 players) are the only ones off the top of my head who have done it succ...

Re: drop goals

Was Humph's drop goal in 2006 to win the league the last recorded? As mentioned earlier Paddy Jackson scored a successful drop goal against Exeter in Oct 2016. I have a vision of Billy Burns scoring a conversion via drop kick to hurry along in a game we were chasing a bonus point try against. Now h...

Re: Squad depth 2024/25

You'd think as a solicitor Humph would know coming out with a statement endorsing a recruitment policy that is in direct contravention of EU Law is putting the IRFU in the legal eagles crossfire's. Sort of serious question. If we're outside the EU could Ulster be province of choice to host foreign ...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

Boyd and Hargy in the 18s, I would also say Dillon but hes out with injury. Tom Bell is a decent big lump too as is big Russell from CCB. There's also 1 or 2 standouts in the U18s Clubs squad/ Adam Boyd being a sibling of Jacob, who is currently away with Ireland U20? Clem knows how to breed rugby ...
