Great that smaller/weaker schools get more games in the cup and something more meaningful to aim for within the cup and still have bowl to play for.
First step towards introducing a league like whats in place for a lot of schools in the other provinces.

Re: Ulster sides in UBL
1A is comprised of 7 Dublin sides, 2 Limerick and 1 Cork. Top4 will be 2 Dublin, 1 Cork and 1 Limerick, How do you change Ulster clubs competing in AIL? They never have. There has been serious money wasted on average/poor players/coaches in all provinces. Buccaneers are doing well in 1A. Certainly d...

Re: |Schools cup 2017
Opening rounds of cup made. Any more thoughts on cups now most of the meaningless friendlies have been played and teams are closer to playing their only competitive games of the year?

Re: Any word on the Academy?
Perhaps if we invested more money in the Academy than in average overseas imports we might have more than six in that squad and we might end up not relying on average overseas imports in the future. We cannot compare ourselves to numbers that say Leinster have in this U20 squad and with having an a...

Re: Any word on the Academy?
Where Ulster lose out against the other provinces is simple - there needs to be a root and branch rethink regarding the Ulster Schools Cup. Kids leaving school now have no connection to clubs or any reason to get involved with them. There are only two or three schools capable of winning the USC and...

Here Kofi http://www.irishrugby.ie/club/32405.php#.VG_jPCNFDqA Thanks Damian, some more digging for you, so now only one Q 1 team will have a chance to go up instead of two, Damian do you know if the play off is over two games home and away , or is it only one game, if so who has home advantage or i...

Re: Ulster sides in UBL
Have they not changed the league structures for next year and done away with the round robin The league structures are totally changing. Instead of current 4 divisions with 2 of 10 teams and 2 of 16, there will be 5 divisions of 10. 2 teams automatically relegated to junior at end of season and 3rd...

Re: Representative games
Seems to be a real push to have some more games at Ravers this year for the age grade/schools stuff Anyone going? More importantly, will the bar be serving?? To be fair to the Ulster Branch they've always tried to play as many age grade/youths/schools games in Ravenhill as possible. Always is 4/5 i...

Re: IRISH EXILES
Exiles are always much weaker at under 20 level than they are at 18s or 19s. Though all the provinces have improved as most beat Exiles at u18 youths level this season when several seasons ago exiles would go unbeaten on their tour of Ireland.

David Swann, Chris Colvin and James Hanna from Queen's to Armagh, with Daryl Morton coming the other way. Armagh must be certs to go up this year. Zack Mccalll to Queen's from Hinch much other movement out there? They're some v good signings for Armagh but wouldn't be sure on them being certs to go...

Re: AIL FIXTURES
As it stands: 1A - Hinch are in play-off position, probably v Bucaneers at home. 1B - Dungannon are down, Malone need a point at most v Corinthians at home. Quins okay. 2A - Ballymena are up. 2B - Inst are in play-off position v Kanturk (?) at home. Better than it was looking a few weeks ago. Inst ...

Re: Schools Cup 2014
Just a question: Had a look on the Ulster website at the schools squad page, and Jack Owens among others werent listed, despite still playing for their schools, yet Owens is playing for the Ireland 18 schools or 19s, is this an error on UR's part, or am I missing something? Owens as dublane said wa...

Re: Under 20's 6 Nations Squad
Sean O Hagan has had some injuries and could get call up later on. Is still underage for 19s.
Im surprised Leinster have so many in squad and the rest of the provinces each don't have more
