Re: Ulster Squad 2018/19
We know you e really settled Baggy when you start referring to those who rub you the wrong way as “putas” ... although if a puta rubbed you the wrong way .... Anyhow ... O’Toole now out & missing the Junior RWC. Not sure how bad his knee is but a shame for him. Would’ve been a good experience fo...

Re: Replacement 10
LOOK, I like Ian Keatley, he is a guy who has struggled more than once to overcome the perception that he is not good enough, then comes back and plays a string of good but limited games. Keatley gets nothing on a plate, my impression is that he is a guy who fights tooth and nail to be the best he ...

Re: Ulster Squad 2018/19
Back line looking rather shallow for start of next season. The already mentioned 9 & 10 issues coupled with serious injuries to L Marshall & King Louis. According to a report this morning they both will miss a large part of next season.
Not good. Medical joker time??

You can not make this brad pitt up Guess who is McFarlands Management Company, why not just call Ulster ESPORTIF. I mean this Is beyound a joke. I guess we shouldn't be surprised. I glad we don't have to look at constable's mug on the Beeb anymore. Talk about a conflict of interests... Kofi forgett...

Re: Ulster Squad 2018/19
I’m sure it’s pie in the sky but Ruan returning to cover 9/10 is so appealing. Do you guys watch Ruan play for Montpellier ? He is back to his best, in amazing form, French press nad fans are in awe for him. He is considered as the best rookie for Montpellier and they recruited Picamoles, Cruden an...

Re: Ulster Squad 2018/19
Whatever happened to the lad Cairns? Played reasonably well against Mexico & then what? Did I hear he is leaving maybe? Johnny Stewart? How ready is the younger Curtis for a preseason appearance? Our lack of depth & options in the half backs is a major concern. I’m sure it’s pie in the sky b...

Re: Summer tour 2018
I don’t know about streets ahead but I’d prefer him at 10 to Cooney. It’s maybe unfair on Cooney as we haven’t seen that much of him this year at 10 &when we did he was probably playing outside Shanahan which throws a different light on it. They are probably 2 good bench options for Joe as they ...

Re: Ulster Squad 2018/19
With Cooney playing so well he deserves his chance with Ireland in Oz & as said elsewhere I’m pleased for him. He deserves it. But it leaves us in a right pickle for the start of the season. Cooney & the other tourists will presumably be allowed extra time off meaning they won’t be ready for...

Re: Summer tour 2018
Pleased for Cooney. Well deserved. I think he will become no 2 to Murray. Interesting to see who plays at 10. Nothing to be gained by playing Sexton, it’s time to see who can fill in when he’s injured. Byrne would be my pick. Hopefully Herring will get a good number of minutes, if more than anything...

Re: Ulster Squad 2018/19
We will unlikely to be able to sign an NIQ LH with the Hond on the books. If we can shift him then I would go for that. A 10 appears to have been blocked. Personally I'd love a big f*** off second row. A bit of an enforcer and lineout general. Where would you find one though? A utility back is need...

Re: Ulster Squad 2018/19
Where are we with our NIQ’s? Deysel, Van der Merwe, Coetzee - anyone else I’ve forgotten?
It seems late in the day to be signing quality, but which position would be best targeted for a NIQ?
Where are we lacking depth? 9, 10, wing, 1, ... where else?

Re: Replacement 10
We need a back up 9 & 10. McPhillips shows potential. I don’t know enough about him, but Lowry is getting rave reviews from some on here. To help take a bit of pressure off these young lads, an experienced 10 is required. Keatley fits the bill of being experienced. He is more than capable of pla...
