The Semi-Final - Leinster Rugby vs. Ulster Rugby

We’ve been in this situation before.

A trip to the RDS Arena for a knockout match? Yeah, that isn’t unfamiliar territory for us since we’ve done it several times before, especially in the past few years. Leinster have definitely been our bogey team when it comes to knockout matches – in past years they’ve denied us a Heineken Cup, a PRO12 title and two further shots at the PRO12 too. It becomes almost infuriating that we can’t be rid of them in knockout scenarios.

A win at the RDS...

Ulster Rugby have released a squad update following their 46-26 win over the Ospreys in Swansea which qualified them for the semi-finals of the Guinness PRO12.

The medical staff were happy to report that the squad had no new injury concerns following the game and that all players involved came through unscathed.

There was, however, bad news for back three duo Tommy Bowe and Louis Ludik who have both been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Bowe, 32, has had exploratory arthroscopy of his...

Ulster qualified for the semi-finals of the Guinness PRO12 in dominant fashion as they ran in six tries in their 46-26 victory over the Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium.

With both sides openly chasing bonus point wins, Les Kiss’s side led at half-time through tries from Paddy Jackson, Rory Best and Andrew Trimble, while the Ospreys were on the board through Dan Biggar and Josh Matavesi scores.

But in the second half Ulster ran away with it, scoring tries through Chris Henry, Stuart Olding and...

How ironic that after 21 rounds of rugby, it all comes down to the final day.

Only one point separates ourselves and the Scarlets in fourth and fifth and with both sides facing very difficult away trips on the final weekend, it’s almost impossible to gauge who’s going to take that final spot in the play-offs. Right now you would probably give us the advantage as we are ahead and we also have statistically the easier away game.

I won’t get into the permutations here but if you want to...

Ulster Rugby have confirmed that international touring side the Barbarians will take on Fiji at the Kingspan Stadium on Friday 11th November at 7:30pm.

The match will be part of the Barbarians’ Autumn Tour which will also see them face the Springboks at Wembley a week before.

This will be the first time the Barbarians have been in Belfast since 1957, and on that occasion that faced an Ulster Invitation XV.

The Baa-Baas played four times last season, all against high ranking international...

Match Report: Ulster Rugby 30-6 Leinster Rugby

Ulster took a huge step towards the semi-finals of the Guinness PRO12 with a commanding 30-6 win over interprovincial rivals Leinster at the Kingspan Stadium.

A controversial penalty try in the first half along with tries from Jared Payne and Paddy Jackson, who added 13 points with the boot, were enough to see the hosts pick up the four match points.

Leinster were thoroughly outplayed, their only points coming from the boot of Jonathan Sexton, by a well-drilled and resolute Ulster defence that...
