Ulster A won a pulsating pre-season friendly against Canada A at the Kingspan Stadium, triumphing 48-38.

Ulster started the stronger and, despite not crossing with their first attack, openside flanker Conall Boomer showed some strong back row work in winning a penalty, which fly half McPhillips converted.

Even though the hosts were the stronger team in the early exchanges, the Canadians notched the first try of the game when lock Conor Keys smashed over from close range after an initial surge...

Ulster were not to be the first team to win an away semi-final in the Guinness PRO12 after they were handily beaten 30-18 by interprovincial rivals Leinster at the RDS Arena.

Despite the two teams going in only two points apart at half-time through tries from Isa Nacewa and Craig Gilroy, in the second half the hosts showed their knockout experience by striking two decisive blows.

Those blows came in the form of two tries from man-of-the-match Jamie Heaslip and Sean Cronin right after the break...

Ulster qualified for the semi-finals of the Guinness PRO12 in dominant fashion as they ran in six tries in their 46-26 victory over the Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium.

With both sides openly chasing bonus point wins, Les Kiss’s side led at half-time through tries from Paddy Jackson, Rory Best and Andrew Trimble, while the Ospreys were on the board through Dan Biggar and Josh Matavesi scores.

But in the second half Ulster ran away with it, scoring tries through Chris Henry, Stuart Olding and...

Ulster took a huge step towards the semi-finals of the Guinness PRO12 with a commanding 30-6 win over interprovincial rivals Leinster at the Kingspan Stadium.

A controversial penalty try in the first half along with tries from Jared Payne and Paddy Jackson, who added 13 points with the boot, were enough to see the hosts pick up the four match points.

Leinster were thoroughly outplayed, their only points coming from the boot of Jonathan Sexton, by a well-drilled and resolute Ulster defence that...
