McCall to stay on until 2019

Ulster Rugby have revealed that prop Kyle McCall has signed a contract extension with the province, keeping him at the Kingspan Stadium until 2019.

The loosehead, who was named the BT Young Player of the Year at the Ulster Awards Dinner, has had a superb season in which he started five of Ulster’s six Champions’ Cup games and scored his first senior try against Oyonnax in January.

Anderson and Young to join the Academy

Ulster Rugby have announced that Willie Anderson and Bryan Young will join the Hughes Insurance Academy as Elite Player Development Officer and Talent Development Officer respectively.

Anderson, a former Ulster and Ireland captain, will start his role in July 2016 and will operate as a forwards specialist for the Academy and in conjunction with the Ulster A team as well.

Ulster Rugby have announced that their Player of the Year Stuart McCloskey has signed a contract extension with the province that will keep him at Ulster until the summer of 2019.

The centre made his Ulster debut in February 2014 as a replacement against the Newport-Gwent Dragons in the Guinness PRO12 and has since gone on to make 42 appearances for his province, scoring eight tries.

Ulster Rugby have released a squad update following their 46-26 win over the Ospreys in Swansea which qualified them for the semi-finals of the Guinness PRO12.

The medical staff were happy to report that the squad had no new injury concerns following the game and that all players involved came through unscathed.

Baa-Baas to play Fiji in Belfast

Ulster Rugby have confirmed that international touring side the Barbarians will take on Fiji at the Kingspan Stadium on Friday 11th November at 7:30pm.

The match will be part of the Barbarians’ Autumn Tour which will also see them face the Springboks at Wembley a week before.

This will be the first time the Barbarians have been in Belfast since 1957, and on that occasion that faced an Ulster Invitation XV.

Ulster have today confirmed that Kiwi number eight Nick Williams has played his final game for the province as he requires surgery on a labral tear in his shoulder.

Williams was unsuccessful in his attempt to rehabilitate the shoulder injury picked up against Glasgow a few weeks ago meaning he will play no further part this season before departing for the Cardiff Blues in the summer.
