In a finish that was remarkably similar to last week's win over the Exeter Chiefs, Munster took victory from the Kingspan Stadium after a late Rory Scannell drop goal handed them a 14-15 win over Ulster.
Despite leading at half-time courtesy of a first try for Charles Piutau and a further effort by Rob Lyttle, the home side couldn't hold onto their advantage, and missed a chance to steal the win at the end when Paddy Jackson pushed a drop goal of his own wide.
Man of the Match Scannell added a...
Whoever decided interpros should be the same week as we're preparing for a Test against the All Blacks needs a stern talking to.
Still, we can only work with the hand we've been dealt and fortunately we have the returns of Wiehahn Herbst and Dan Tuohy to offset a portion of the international losses. It's not ideal that their returns from long term lay-offs are to be thrown straight in against one of the biggest packs in the Guinness PRO12, but given our injury situation it was more a...
Ulster have released an injury update ahead of their interprovincial clash with Munster on Friday night at the Kingspan Stadium (kick-off 7:05pm).
Darren Cave has returned ahead of schedule and is available for selection at the weekend, as is Robbie Diack who has missed the last few games as well.
Both Luke Marshall (knee) and Dan Tuohy (hip) received injuries in their respective matches at the weekend, but it is hoped that they will both be available for the game.
Stuart Olding (hip flexor)...
A late Paddy Jackson drop goal handed Ulster a nail-biting 19-18 victory over the Exeter Chiefs at the Kingspan Stadium and kept their slim European hopes alive.
Gareth Steenson and Jackson traded drop goals in the last five minutes, and Steenson had a second chance to put the Chiefs ahead again but pushed a second drop kick wide.
Sean Reidy scored the only try of the game just before half-time, while Jackson also added three penalties to keep Ulster ahead for most of the game and maintain...
First and foremost, the rugby takes second place this week.
Last Sunday we lost a legend of the game. The news of Anthony Foley's death rocked the rugby community, and at just 42 it came as a shock to everyone. As the European matches continue, Axel will be commemorated across Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England, France and Italy, a true reflection on how much he impacted rugby, not only in Munster and Ireland.
There will be a minute's silence before every game this weekend, including at the...
Ulster utility back Louis Ludik has signed a new three-year deal with the province which will keep him at the Kingspan Stadium until 2020.
The South African, who will qualify to play for Ireland at the end of this season, is primarily a full-back but has also been utilised in the centre and on the wing for Ulster.
Ludik, 30, joined Ulster in 2014 from French side Agen and had signed a one-year contract extension at the end of last season.
He's been one of Ulster's best players so far this...
