Ulster v Munster Pitch Update
2 January 2010, 10:03 am
By Lauren Graham
With the recent drop in temperatures, Ground staff at Ravenhill have been keeping a close eye on pitch conditions and with pitch covers on all week, Ulster Rugby is still positive that today's game between Ulster and Munster will go ahead (kick-off 6pm).
A final pitch inspection is due to take place later this afternoon but it is thought that if temperatures rise above freezing throughout the day, the game should indeed be played as scheduled.
However, Ulster Rugby urges supporters to check the Ulster Rugby website after 3pm this afternoon for an update before travelling to the ground.

not really much more the folk at ravers can do. At least they're keeping us informed. Perhaps if you spouted your hot air over the pitch then the game would definitely get the go ahead!!

Climb up onto the top of your house and start screaming: 'stand up for the Ulstermen, stand.......'

I don't think it will be Ulster Rugby's decision on whether the pitch is fit to play or not - more likely the referees. Hence the decision is not going to be taken until closer to kick-off.

Nah don't need dug out today, actually rained for a few minutes and temperature now a very sticky 5 C

you could drive a lorry across the fields though with the ice where ground is bare but anywhere there is a bit of grass cover it's not too bad.
Would have thought a pitch inspection around lunchtime would have been better as if it's frozen then it will probably be still frozen at 6

Sorry Rooster just read this and agree but then an earlier kick of would have been better as the temp will drop as the evening draws in,Pitch inspection at midday and kick of at 3ish if it was deemed playable at 12........ feel it will freeze more. the longer its left....however i am sure that Ulster really want to play it today
